As needs increase, JCHE offers CaringChoices™, a program that enables residents to remain in the comfort and familiarity of their own JCHE apartments. While the services vary slightly at our locations, the overall goal of the program is to provide services that make it possible for our more frail residents to remain at JCHE, and delay or prevent their need for nursing home placement.

At our Brighton Campus: Residents of Ulin House, Leventhal House and Kurlat House can participate in the Congregate Housing Services Program (CHSP). The program offers a nutritious Kosher lunch, escorts to medical appointments, and "house calls" which offer personal care and light housekeeping assistance, including medication reminders, help preparing for bed, toileting, warming up meals, washing dishes, and taking out the trash.

At Coleman House: Some residents of Coleman House receive in-home services coordinated by a designated service coordinator, who works closely with the Aging Services Access Point (ASAP) for Newton.  The service coordinator is on-site specific times each week to explain and coordinate services for residents if needed. CaringChoices can provide subsidies on a sliding fee scale based on the resident's income and ability to manage daily tasks.
