Announcing Opus!

What if the old idea of senior living retired?

We are thrilled to announce the launching of the Opus Newton Priority Program. 2Life Communities has been researching and developing a new model of “living in community” for older adults for the last six years. The new model is built upon a foundation of affordability, equity, sustainability and adaptability. It is a bold new concept informed by our not-for-profit organization’s more than 50-year impact and the distinct need for a different option for those in the middle. The new concept is called Opus. Opus Newton will be our first community.

This week 2Life Communities invited older adults interested in applying to live at Opus to join the Opus Newton Priority Program. It's an opportunity to embrace this new idea and - in the spring - be among the first to select your residence. All you have to do is sign up and make a no-risk, fully refundable Priority deposit. You can get more details and sign up here, or feel free to give us a call at 617-284-6734.

Opus is a more connected model for living that fosters a spirit of participation and grounds each day with meaning. The concept comes from 2Life's determination to create communities that keep resident woven into the most vital and vibrant parts of their surroundings rather than sealing them off from the rest of the world. There are three pillars that make Opus a completely new approach to Senior Living.

  • VOLUNTEERISM: Opus residents take an active role in helping the community and their neighbors thrive. Through this environment of collective contribution comes a lasting sense of purpose and connection.
  • VIBRANT LOCATIONS: Opus communities will be developed in locations that are hubs of activity. This allows residents to tap into the opportunities of their neighborhood and become part of the larger community rather than creating expensive, exclusive enclaves that are isolated from other generations and from neighbors.
  • WELLNESS AND CARE MODEL: At Opus, we forgo building costly and unappealing care centers in favor of giving people the ability to stay in their residence and have the care come to them. On-site care navigators and advocates will ensure that each individual can find the right support at the right time. And partnerships with preferred providers will help keep care more affordable.

The Opus concept all started with a simple question: What if the old idea of senior living retired? With the launch of Opus Newton, older adults who seek to live in the Boston area can be among the early adopters of change who will make it happen.
