When you join any 2Life community, you will find an array of supports that are not typical of affordable senior housing, such as:
- On-site management
- Care coordination services
- Lifelong learning programs, including lectures, workshops, and hands-on classes
- Fitness and wellness programs
- Technology assistance and training
- Holiday celebrations, cultural events, and other entertainment
- Onsite maintenance staff with 24-hour onsite emergency response services (varies by site)
The Golda Meir House experience
Set in the popular Auburndale neighborhood of Newton, Golda Meir House is close to the village’s most coveted attractions and conveniences and just seven miles from the heart of Boston. A short drive will take you to Cold Springs Park for trail walks, tennis, and picnics. The links at the Leo J. Martin Memorial Golf Club are a five-minute drive away. Take in an art exhibit at the Rose Art Museum or carpool to a blockbuster film at West Newton Cinema. Plus, with the Woodland MBTA station within walking distance, you can easily go to the bank, get a haircut, shop for groceries, or run to the pharmacy without any worries about parking. And for health needs, Newton-Wellesley Hospital and doctor offices are just blocks away.
Inside Golda Meir House, you will find beautifully maintained common spaces and apartments, as well as a resident services coordinator to help connect you to the programs and services that will best fit your needs. Amenities include:
- Universal accessibility and elevators
- Outdoor courtyard with raised garden beds for residents
- Outdoor fitness equipment
- Indoor fitness center with expansive glass windows overlooking the courtyard
- Lunch served Monday through Friday, with hot meals, sides, soups, salads, and sandwiches available to eat in the dining room or take out ($100 monthly fee required; guests can join for $13 per meal).
- Resident technology center, open 24/7, staffed on Wednesdays and two additional mornings each week
- Resident library with several major newspapers provided daily, including the Boston Globe, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and publications in both Chinese and Russian
- Game room and meeting rooms
- Julia’s Cafe in the main lobby, which serves coffee and fresh pastries every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon
- Hair salon open on Thursdays, with a professional stylist and very reasonable rates
- Small pets welcome (one per household)
- Resident-led programs and partnership with management in daily scheduling and structuring of the community
- Weekly health evaluations from a geriatric nurse practitioner
- Assistance accessing ride share and other transportation services
- A short walk to the Woodland MBTA station

Although most apartments at Golda Meir House are designated for those with an income level that meets HUD guidelines for income-based housing, a limited number of market-rate apartments are also available.
