Housing and healthcare integration at Brighton Campus featured on Boston 25 News

Element Care at JJ Carroll

Integrating housing and healthcare is a key to quality care for older adults.

In a segment that aired in June, 2Life President Lizbeth Heyer and J.J. Carroll House resident Daniel Hunt were interviewed by Boston 25 News on how that integration works at 2Life and what it means for residents.

The J.J. Carroll House on 2Life’s Brighton Campus is home to a PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) Center. The PACE Center, operated by Element Care, is open to the public, but residents of the Brighton Campus can reach PACE without ever needing to step outside.

Accessible healthcare makes a significant difference for older adults. According to Element Care CEO Doug Thompson, residents who utilize a PACE Center live up to 6 years longer because accessible care means appointments are kept and medical concerns are caught early.

Healthcare is just one of many ways that aging in community expands seniors’ access to the resources to age well. Visit Boston 25 News to watch the full segment.
