Throughout her career, Allison has focused on communications strategy and storytelling as a means to initiate and support social change. Prior to joining 2Life Communities in 2021, Allison created and produced The Pledge Podcast to share inspiring stories of women's political engagement.

She previously served as director of communications and engagement at Education Resource Strategies (ERS), working with her team to broaden the impact of ERS’s work to improve public school systems. Allison also served as co-director of communications at Education Development Center (EDC), a global nonprofit, and as director of communications for Jobs for the Future. She also had a stint as production coordinator for promotion of the PBS series FRONTLINE. Along the way she has consulted in audiovisual storytelling, collaborating with organizations to distill and personalize the essence of their work.

Allison has a master’s degree from the Harvard School of Education and a bachelor’s in American studies (high honors) in general scholarship from Wesleyan University.
