Gina Plata
Gina’s ability to collaborate with others to find innovative solutions to complex social problems is what makes her such an effective, cross-cultural leader. She brings to 2Life Communities more than 20 years of experience working with nonprofit organizations, social service agencies and linguistically, ethnically and culturally diverse communities. Her extensive skillset includes organizational development, strategic planning, capacity building, community development, and workforce development.
Throughout her career, Gina has worked with underserved populations—from immigrants and refugees to homeless individuals, veterans and young adults. These experiences have taught her how partnerships among nonprofit organizations, public sector institutions and community members are essential for breaking the cycles of poverty and oppression and advancing racial and social equity.
Prior to joining 2Life, Gina served as Chief Program Officer at YouthBuild USA, where she contributed to the revitalization of a 40-year-old organization that serves as a world-class support center to more than 165 YouthBuild programs worldwide. Gina has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Universidad Iberoamericana and a master’s in leadership and nonprofit management from Northeastern University.
