When it opens in 2028, Mattapan's Brooke House at Olmsted Village will provide 127 affordable, service-enriched apartments for adults age 62 and over. In addition to its residents, Brooke House will be home to two amazing 2Life partners that are already well-known and respected in the community: the Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center, which will open a new satellite clinic on the building's ground floor, and the Shattuck Child Care Center, displaced from the neighborhood after the closure of the former Lemuel Shattuck Hospital.

The Jamaica Plain Gazette takes a deep dive in the beloved child care center's return to its roots at the crossroads of Jamaica Plan, Mattapan, Hyde Park, and Dorchester.

Leaders of both organizations look forward to the opportunity for 2Life's senior residents and SCCC's junior students to enrich each other's lives. As 2Life President Lizbeth Heyer states in the article, "The opportunity to have purpose and connection for older adults is truly life-saving, and there's extensive data that proves it."
