2Life is changing what’s possible for senior adults in Boston.

In the United States, almost 19 million Americans over age 60 live alone. What’s more, the number of single-person households in the 80+ age group is expected to more than double by 2038. Individuals living alone, with a median annual income of $22,200, are more likely to pay for in-home assistance or, alarmingly, go without support at all — especially when having a lower income makes it so difficult just to keep a roof over their heads. Factor in the very real physical and mental health risks associated with loneliness and isolation, and it’s clear: there’s a very real crisis looming.

2Life Communities is facing the challenge head-on and drawing a line in the sand. We’re thinking creatively about how and where we can build our communities. We’re adding life-enhancing, innovative features like “Village Center” community spaces, on-site PACE Centers, intergenerational play areas and public green spaces, and we’re sharing our extensive knowledge of best practices to expand the conversation about what’s possible for older adults.

We welcome you to join the conversation by partnering with us, volunteering, joining our team or donating to the cause. Together, we can change what growing older means for everyone.
